To keep your new stainless steel surface supplied by HOSPITALITY DESIGN in tip top condition follow these simple steps…
Stainless Steel is easy to clean and easy to damage if cleaned incorrectly. It looks great and is highly resistant to rust and corrosion keeping its bright, attractive appearance under the most severe conditions.
Initially the stainless usually will have a PVC coating, firstly remove the protective PVC coating.
Regular cleaning with warm soapy water is all you need. Just wipe the surface regularly with a damp cloth or soft leather, using a scrubbing brush if necessary for corners and crevices. Dry the steel and then polish with a leather and soft cloth.
Avoid placing very hot pots on a stainless steel bench, always place the pot on an insulated fire proof mat, not on the bench directly.
A fine non-abrasive cleansing powder may be used on satin finished stainless steel, but should never be applied to a mirror finished surface.
NEVER USE STEEL WOOL or any metallic scouring material on stainless steel. Particles of ordinary steel are likely to cling to the stainless steel and start superficial discoloration which in turn could cause a local condition favorable to corrosion.
Stainless Steel used externally.
Shop fronts and building trim exposed to weather will collect dust and grime and need washing from time to time. This is particularly the case where the steel is exposed to the effects of sea air or industrial atmosphere.
For showroom condition you may apply baby oil or commercially available stainless steel polish.
Regular attention will ensure the maintenance of the original bright surface.
